Independence Day

I am travelling to Belize for the first time - my husband and I will be there for Independence Day and are trying to find out where the best festivities will be...also will it be difficult to travel due to the holiday?

Any ideas or suggestions would be great - also for other activities - we will be in Belize from Sept 20-27.
